Thors Mjolnir Hammer

Thor's favorite weapon of choice was his hammer, Mjöllnir. No ordinary hammer, the Mjöllnir would return to his hands like a boomerang whenever thrown at an enemy. As the god of thunder, it was often perceived that the thunder sound that was often heard was the sound of Mjöllnir crashing down on his enemies. In Old Norse, Mjöllnir meant lightning which is probably how Thor came up with the name for his primary weapon of choice.
